Rating: 80% (B-) Worth It

What makes a comedy series is not necessarily the needed narrative, but rather the clever and unique moments of humor that help to bring the pieces of the puzzle together. Season 5 of the #Netflix  semi original series #ArrestedDevelopment has moments of well timed humor, but fails to mirror the best parts of what the series use to be. Fans of the highly regarded series believed that season 4 left a stain that would be unfixable, but season 5 gives one reason to hope. The narrative in itself is engaging, but at times the humor seems forced, which takes away from the overall impact of each scene. A series should build from season to season, but rather what audiences are witnessing is a display that is stagnant with no room to move. The acting is phenomenal as always, but even that can't carry the most mundane moments that occur. In short, if you have ever been a fan of the show then it's worth the watch, but don't expect the glory of the old days to break from the chains they inhabit.
