At times action within a series can be misplaced and forced, but when done effectively, it can truly grip an audience from beginning to end. The new #Netflix original series entitled #BlackSummer is a nonstop thrill of heart pounding drama and anticipation. The narrative is beautifully woven, in order to bring discombobulated pieces of a complex puzzle together, mixed within a multifaceted array of acting that truly brings fear to audiences from screen. Despite its overall engagement, however, there are still pieces missing from the narrative, preventing audiences from truly immersing themselves within the story. The best way to describe this series would be waking up in the middle of a hurricane one never some coming. The origins of such destruction and devastation are unknown, but the reality of the chaos is real. In short, the elements of thrill and tension deem this series to be more than worth the watch, but it's the presence of missing key pieces that makes it hard to fully connect with.
