Rating: 82% (B-) Worth It

The vigilante narrative is nothing new to audiences, but it's refreshing and captivating to see such a tale set within Johannesburg. The new #Netflix original series #Shadow does an incredible job creating something unique from a recycled genre, but fails to truly reach the heights of its overall potential. The acting is truly phenomenal and the backstories are captivating, but the quickness of the foundation limits the needed perspective of the audience. One wishes to become connected with the protagonist and his pain, but his trauma is a mere blimp within the overall scope of the narrative. The questions build, thus become frustrating, but doesn't fully take away from the engagement that this series brings. Uniqueness is a quality that it holds, but one could sense a comparison between #Luther and #Sherlock begin to brew as each episode continues to progress. In short, this series is definitely worth the watch, but the lack of in depth character development will surely leave one both frustrated and confused.
