Rating: 85% (B+) Worth It

The nanny narrative is nothing that one would deem to be original, but the new #Netflix original series #TurnUpCharlie does offer somewhat of a different perspective to the genre. The comedic element of the series is well placed within the scope of the emotional drama that occurs, but at times it can seem a bit forced within the wave to push the narrative along. It's an up and down ride for sure, but the added elements of humor and love are worth it in the end. Seeing #IdrisElba play somewhat of a lighthearted character is jarring at first, but he blends within the character so well, helping to carry even the slowest moments within the narrative. In short, the speed of the overall plot can be off putting a bit, but new the series undoubtedly has pure moments of enjoyment, even in places you would least expect it.
